I would like to introduce myself. My name is Eric Bjergso, and I have filed my nomination papers for a Councillor position in Drummond North Elmsley Township for the upcoming municipal election on October 26th.
My wife, Sharon, and I raised our family — Ryan, Mike, Katie, and Sam — on Drummond Concession 9a. We have resided here for almost 50 years.
It would be a privilege and an honour to be elected as a Councillor representing the constituents of Drummond North Elmsley Township. I look forward to meeting you and asking for your consideration when voting.

A graduate of Kemptville College, Eric has spent his entire career in the agricultural industry, deeply rooted in the land and the communities that depend on it.

Long-time General Manager of an agri-retail national cooperative with multiple locations across Canada and more than 60 employees. Responsible for strategic vision, leadership, financial discipline, and team development.
International Commodity Markets
Many years of experience selling agricultural commodities to several international markets — bringing a broad perspective to local economic decisions.
Drummond North Elmsley Township
The current Council and management/staff team are to be commended for a job well done. People work well together and collaboratively to deliver exceptional customer service. The Township is a well-run and efficient organization that demonstrates a disciplined and fiscally responsible mentality; good news for taxpayers.
I would be remiss if I did not recognize Steve Fournier, who is retiring as Reeve after many years of loyal and dedicated service. Steve is a sound thinker and has been a great leader. Thank you, Steve, for your valued service.
Although big business is important, small business is the engine that drives the economy. It is very important that we support small businesses in every way possible. We need small businesses to succeed in order to maintain a viable and prosperous community.
A Different Kind of Campaign
Constituents will not be seeing traditional campaign signs or leaflets as part of my election campaign. This is a personal preference – I do not believe they are an efficient or cost-effective use of financial resources. Instead, I will donate the funds that would have been budgeted for signage and leaflets to a local charity. I plan to use personal contact and social media to keep in touch with constituents throughout the campaign.
